Bangkok Cobras - Saigon Heat 66:68

Saigon Heat finished their inaugural ASEAN League season on a high note. They toppled the Bangkok Cobras away from home to earn the 8th win. Jonathan Jones (211-C-79, agency: TSS Management) fired 32 points and grabbed 16 boards to lead the effort.
The Cobras stunned the visitors in the opening frame. They ensured a 22:9 lead after ten minutes. But the Heat gradually came back to life. They narrowed the deficit to 10 points at the interval. The visitors got within three points at the final intermission. Sanz finally put the Heat in front late in regulation and they hung on to escape with a narrow win at the end. Jahmar Thorpe (198-F-84, college: Houston) finished with 22 points in the victory. Travis George (206-PF-85) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the Cobras. Marvin Cruz (173-G-84) netted 13 points in the loss.

Hanoi Buffalos (VBA) agreed terms with experienced 35-year old American ex-international power forward Jordan Collins (208-110kg-82, college: North Carolina State). He played last summer at Thai General Equipment in Thailand TBL league. In 21 games he had 13.6ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.2apg. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Collins' team was regular season runner-up in Thailand Basketball League in 2016. SeaHorses Mikawa (B League) inked 27-year old American forward Daniel Orton (208-116kg-90, college: Kentucky). He played in the summer at Hitech in Thailand TBL league. Orton managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 19 TBL games he averaged 14.6ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.2apg, 1.1spg and 1.2bpg.
