Bangkok Cobras - Thailand Slammers 83:78

Bangkok Cobras recorded the sixth win in the ASEAN League season. They overcame visiting Thailand Slammers to gain 6-9 record. Travis George (206-PF-85) and Jai Reyes (173-G) finished with 18 points each to lead the winners.
The Slammers enjoyed a better start to the game. They ensured a 19:15 lead after ten minutes. The visitors stretched the margin in the second quarter. The defending champions piled up a 39:34 halftime lead. Bangkok Cobras however stopped the rot in the third period. The hosts narrowed the deficit to 2 points with one quarter remaining. Bangkok Cobras went on a 15:3 run midway through the final stanza to take a comfortable 78:69 lead. The hosts never looked back marching to the win at the end. Ratdech Kruatiwa (191-G/F-85) had 17 points in the winning effort. Christopher Garnett (211-C-80, college: Indiana SE) answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the Slammers. Calvin Williams (206-F-87, college: SE Missouri St.) accounted for 19 points and 9 rebounds in the loss.

Batang Gilas is back in shape as they conquered Thailand, 113-46, in the SEABA Under-16 tournament on Wednesday, May 17 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The win gave Batang Gilas a flawless 3-0 record, and they are now just a win away from securing a slot in the FIBA Asia tourney. Thailand vented its ire on Myanmar with a 102-35 shellacking Monday in the 2017 Seaba Championship.
