Philippine Patriots celebrated the 13th win in ASEAN League season. They stunned Bangkok Cobras away from home to improve at 13-2 record on top of the standings. Nakiea Miller (204-C-79, college: Iona) stepped up with 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.
The Cobras got to almost a perfect start. They enjoyed a 24:18 lead after ten minutes of action. The Patriots however took over in the second frame. The league leaders held the hosts 13 points and secured a 6-point lead at the interval 43:37. The teams increased the tempo in the third quarter. The Patriots and the Cobras exchanged baskets throughout the frame but the visitors managed to secure a 6-point lead heading into the fourth frame. Wutipong Dasom (195-C-91) uncorked a tournament-best 40 points, outscoring the whole Burmese squad, while also hauling down 11 rebounds as the Thais bounced back from their sorry 60-59 loss to Indonesia on Sunday. Thailand came out playing with a purpose, running to a 14-0 start and extending its lead to as high as 67 en route to its third win against one defeat. Nakom Jaisanuk had 15 marke...   [read more]
