Thailand entertained the home crowd with the important win at the end of their U18 Asia Championship quest. The hosts held off Kazakhstan to book the ticket into Level I for the tournaments next edition. Kornkanok Kotchrat tallied 24 points and 18 rebounds to pace the home side. Kazakhstan will now play in Level II of the championship. Thailand surged ahead early in the encounter but could not clear off substantially. Kazakhstan stayed close as they trailed by just three points at the first pause 20:23. The Kazakh team gained the lead midway through the second frame. Thailand bounced back and sealed the first half outcome at 35:31. Kaichalyapoom knocked down 6 points in the third frame to help Thailand took off. The hosts pulled in front to take a 10-point advantage before the fourth stanza. Thailand maintained the margin throughout the final period and celebrated a confident win at the end. Pornnutcha Sawatong (164-G-93) notched 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning team. Aungkana Buapa (169-G/F-93) had 14 points for Thailand. Anna Vinokurova (191-C-92) answered with 29 points and 14 rebounds for Kazakhstan. Olga Abdreupova (172-G-92) canned 14 points and grabbed 9 caroms in the loss.
