Taiwan Beer - KKL 89-80

Taiwan Beer celebrated the first victory in the playoff series versus KKL. Taiwan Beer dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to KKL's 42. They outrebounded KKL 40-19 including a 28-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 20 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. International Po-Hsun Chou (197-91) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. Four Taiwan Beer players scored in double figures. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) produced 20 points and the former international power forward Kuan-Chuan Chen (197-93) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Pauian upset Futon Braves on the road to victoriously open the quarterfinal series. Pauian dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Fubon Braves' 40. International power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Chun-Yen Peng (184-89) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. Guard Wei-Che Lin (182-92) produced 36 points (!!!) and 7 assists and Central African-American center Patrick O'Bryant (213-86, college: Bradley) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Yulon Luxgen (SBL) added to their roster 24-year old American center Isaiah Austin (216-102kg-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports). He played last summer at Pilipinas in Champions Cup. Austin managed to play in four leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 7 Asia Champions Cup games he recorded very impressive stats: 20.0ppg, 13.0rpg, 2.4apg and 3.1bpg. The NBA season just began Tuesday, but for Nets guard Jeremy Lin(6'3''-PG-88, college: Harvard), the 2017-18 campaign is already over.
