SBL Round 26: Bottom-ranked KKL win against Pauian - Feb 20, 2017

There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in SBL.

Bottom-ranked KKL managed to get a eighth victory on Sunday night. This time they won against fifth-ranked Pauian 84-80. 26 personal fouls committed by Pauian helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds. The former international point guard Wei-Han Lin (178-90) contributed with 15 points for the winners. International power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 7 blocks for Pauian. Pauian's coach Ban-Da Mai rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KKL (8-20) moved-up to sixth place. Pauian lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 16 games lost. KKL are looking forward to face higher ranked Yulon Luxgen (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pauian will play against the league's second-placed Taiwan Beer and is hoping to win this game.

Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) scored 29 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Shih-Yuan Chou chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Australian center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 25 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yulon Luxgen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Taiwan Beer. Bank of Taiwan at the other side dropped to the bottom position with 21 games lost. Yulon Luxgen will play against KKL (#6) in the next round. Bank of Taiwan will play against KKL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Yulon Luxgen - Bank of Taiwan 94-68

Yulon Luxgen made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Bank of Taiwan outrebounded Yulon Luxgen 40-27 including a 13-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) scored 29 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Shih-Yuan Chou (188-83) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest.
