Fubon Braves (SBL) added to their roster 31-year old Central African ex-international center Patrick O'Bryant (213-121kg-86, college: Bradley). He started the season at Taiwan Beer (SBL). In 6 games he recorded 11.7ppg, 10.8rpg, 2.2apg, 1.0spg and 1.3bpg this season. The last season O'Bryant played also at Taiwan Beer where in 40 SBL games he was fifth best scorer with impressive 19.0ppg and had 14.4rpg (#3 in the league), 2.7apg (top 5) and 1.9bpg. O'Bryant helped them to win the league title (twice) despite they ended the regular season at the second place (twice). A very spectacular season in his career as he was selected All-Taiwanese SBL Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Center of the Year.
In 2006 he was drafted by Golden State Warriors (NBA) in first round (9th overall). O'Bryant attended Bradley University and it is his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. He was a member of Central African Senior National Team in 2013.
O'Bryant is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in seven different countries. O'Bryant tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Greece (Kavala), Lithuania (Lietuvos rytas), Philippines (Globalport), Puerto Rico (Atleticos), Venezuela, NBA (Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Hornets) and D-League (Reno Bighorns).
On O'Bryant: (by Aran Smith for in 2006)
Very good agility for a 7 footer, light on his feet ... Not afraid of contact, good strength and improving rapidly ... Runs the court and moves very well, also quick getting into transition ... Great shot blocker, doesn't get overzealous. Can block a lot of shots without jumping ... Excellent rebounder ... Has good touch on his shot, solid free throw shooter ... Works hard to establish position under the basket ...
Body balance is weak, will improve in time with added strength ... Not a tremendous leaper, but above average for a 7 footer
