Fubon Braves (SBL) inked experienced 36-year old American center Earl Barron (211-109kg-81, college: Memphis). It is actually his comeback to Fubon Braves as he has played here before. Barron started the season at Toyama Grouses in Japanese B League. In 19 games he averaged 11.3ppg and 7.1rpg this season. The most of last season Barron spent at Fubon Braves where in 36 SBL games he was the best scorer with impressive 26.9ppg and recorded 15.7rpg (leader !!!) and 1.5apg. Barron helped them to make it to the semifinals. A very good season in his career as he was selected to Asia-basket.com Taiwanese SBL All-Imports Team, 2nd Team and to the All-Star Game. He also spent pre-season at the Hawks in NBA earlier that year. Barron's team won D-League Showcase Cup in 2015. He is a very experienced player. Barron has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on three different continents (Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Barron has played previously professionally in China (Shanxi Zhongyu and Qingdao Eagles), Italy, Lebanon (Al Moutahed), Philippines (Meralco Bolts), Puerto Rico (Atleticos), Turkey, NBA (Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards) and D-League (Northern Arizona Suns). It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Fubon Braves. Barron attended University of Memphis until 2003 and it is his 14th (!!!) season in pro basketball. His game is described as:
A very big and long guy, also enough athletic for his size. Started his career as a forward, this is why offensively he likes to play front to the basket, to use his good mid-range shot. He is a good free throw shooter too, something not usual for a so big man. Needs to improve defensively and at the rebounding department, however, some say he's too soft..
