SBL Round 11: Yulon Luxgen lose to Taiwan Beer - Dec 17, 2016

The game between third ranked Yulon Luxgen (8-6) and fourth ranked Taiwan Beer (7-6) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Yulon Luxgen was crushed by Taiwan Beer 59-89. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Yulon Luxgen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Huan-Ya Yu (183-93) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds for Yulon Luxgen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 7-6 record. Yulon Luxgen lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with six games lost. Taiwan Beer are looking forward to face bottom-ranked KKL (#7) in the next round. Yulon Luxgen will play against KKL (#7) and is hoping to win this game.

It was a great evening for Australian center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds. Wei-Che Lee helped adding 5 points and 6 rebounds. Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bank of Taiwan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Yulon Luxgen lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with six games lost. Bank of Taiwan will play against league's leader Dacin Tigers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yulon Luxgen will play against KKL and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Dacin Tigers will meet Bank of Taiwan (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pauian will play against the league's second-placed Fubon Braves and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 11 KKL was beaten by Fubon Braves 85-77.

Taiwan Beer - Yulon Luxgen 89-59

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Fubon Braves (10-4) beat bottom-ranked KKL (3-10) 85-77 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 24 rebounds. Guard Wei-Che Lin (182-92) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds and international swingman Wei-Ju Chien (185-92) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for KKL in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fubon Braves maintains second place with 10-4 record behind leader Dacin Tigers. KKL lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Fubon Braves will meet Pauian (#5) in the next round. KKL will play against Yulon Luxgen and hope to secure a win.
