SBL Round 10: Dacin Tigers edge Yulon Luxgen by one point - Dec 13, 2016

The most exciting game of round 10 in the SBL ended with only one-point defeat of 3rd ranked Yulon Luxgen (8-4) to first ranked Dacin Tigers (10-3) 86-85 on Sunday evening. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: N.Mexico St.) fired a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds (on 15-of-19 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Chih-Wei Wu (182-87) chipped in 18 points. Dacin Tigers' coach Da Zong Qiu used entire bench in such tough game. Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks for lost side. Dacin Tigers have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-3 record. Yulon Luxgen at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. Dacin Tigers are looking forward to face Pauian (#5) in the next round. Yulon Luxgen will play against Taiwan Beer and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a loss of second ranked Fubon Braves (9-4) against seventh ranked Bank of Taiwan (3-10) on Sunday night. Fubon Braves were defeated by Bank of Taiwan in a tough game 81-88. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Wei-Che Lee (179-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Luke Nevill contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Wei-Che Lin (182-92) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Fubon Braves. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bank of Taiwan maintains seventh position with 3-10 record. Fubon Braves at the other side keep the second place with four games lost. Bank of Taiwan will play against higher ranked Yulon Luxgen (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fubon Braves will play against KKL and hope to get back on the winning track.

Quincy Davis had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Eugene Phelps responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 20 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pauian maintains fifth position with 5-8 record. Loser KKL keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Pauian will meet league's leader Dacin Tigers in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KKL will play against the league's second-placed Fubon Braves (#2) and hope to secure a win.

KKL - Pauian 73-84

The game in was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Pauian (5-8) played at the court of 6th ranked KKL (3-9). Pauian defeated KKL 84-73 on Sunday. Strangely KKL outrebounded Pauian 43-27 including 16 on the offensive glass. International power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international power forward Tai-Hao Wu (203-85, college: BYU-Hawaii) chipped in 14 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 20 rebounds and international swingman Wei-Ju Chien (185-92) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Pauian maintains fifth position with 5-8 record. Loser KKL keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Pauian will meet league's leader Dacin Tigers in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KKL will play against the league's second-placed Fubon Braves (#2) and hope to secure a win.

Bank of Taiwan - Fubon Braves 88-81

Very important is a loss of second ranked Fubon Braves (9-4) against seventh ranked Bank of Taiwan (3-10) on Sunday night. Fubon Braves were defeated by Bank of Taiwan in a tough game 81-88. It was a great shooting night for Bank of Taiwan especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Wei-Che Lee (179-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Australian center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Wei-Che Lin (182-92) replied with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech) added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Fubon Braves. Davis managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year (!!!). In 26 SBL games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.0ppg, 13.4rpg, 4.8apg, 2.7spg and 2.0bpg.
