American Center Bryan Davis (206-C-86) had a great game in the last round for Taiwan Beer, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 9. The 30-year old player had a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Fubon Braves (#2, 9-4) 76-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Taiwan Beer maintains the 4th position in Taiwanese SBL. Taiwan Beer is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-6 record. In the team's last game Davis had a remarkable 52.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Taiwan Beer's top player in his first season with the team. Former Texas A&M University star has very solid stats this year. Davis is in league's top in points (3rd best: 17.5ppg), rebounds (4th best: 13.0rpg) and averages impressive 2.0bpg and 2.3spg.
The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old Australian Luke Nevill (218-C-86) of Bank of Taiwan. Nevill had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 20 rebounds. It was enough for Bank of Taiwan to edge slightly higher-ranked Pauian (#5, 5-8) 67-65. Despite this victory they still are the league outsider. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Bank of Taiwan managed to get this year. Nevill is well-known at Bank of Taiwan and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#5). He also registered 14.7 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Indian center Sim Bhullar (226-C-92) of league's top team Dacin Tigers. Bhullar scored 16 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Dacin Tigers, leading his team to a 71-67 win against #4 ranked Taiwan Beer in a game of the week. Dacin Tigers confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 3 lost games. Bhullar has a great season in Taiwan. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.2ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 13.1rpg (3rd best). He also has 3.0bpg and FGP: 64.5%.
