SBL Round 7: Leader Fubon Braves lose to Dacin Tigers - Dec 4, 2016

Top ranked Fubon Braves (8-2) recorded its second loss against third ranked Dacin Tigers on Saturday night. Dacin Tigers were rolled over by Dacin Tigers 76-57. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: N.Mexico St.) fired 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Yen-Tsung Shih (194-92) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dacin Tigers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 7-3 record behind leader Fubon Braves. Fubon Braves at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Dacin Tigers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in to the arena .
Fourth-ranked Pauian (4-6) made lots of trouble for first ranked Fubon Braves (8-2). Fubon Braves managed to secure only three-point victory 76-73. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Wen-Cheng Tsai (190-85) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Wei-Che Lin contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. International power forward Tai-Hao Wu (203-85, college: BYU-Hawaii) answered with 8 points and 9 rebounds for Pauian. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Fubon Braves maintains first place with 8-2 record. Pauian at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Fubon Braves will play against league's second-placed Yulon Luxgen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pauian will play against Taiwan Beer and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a great evening for Herve Lamizana who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. Yulon Luxgen's coach Yong-Tai Wei used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Quincy Davis responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Yulon Luxgen maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Fubon Braves. Loser Pauian dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Yulon Luxgen will meet league's leader Fubon Braves in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pauian will play against Taiwan Beer (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was an exceptional evening for Sim Bhullar who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Dacin Tigers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 7-3 record behind leader Fubon Braves. KKL lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Dacin Tigers will have a break next round. KKL will play against Bank of Taiwan (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 7 bottom-ranked Bank of Taiwan was defeated by Taiwan Beer 89-76.

Taiwan Beer - Bank of Taiwan 89-76

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Bank of Taiwan (1-8) was defeated by fifth ranked Taiwan Beer (4-5) 89-76. They made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American center Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists. International Po-Hsun Chou (197-91) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) for the winning side. Australian center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and forward Kuo-Wei Chen (190-84) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Bank of Taiwan in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Bank of Taiwan lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Taiwan Beer's next round opponent will be Pauian (#5). Bank of Taiwan will play against KKL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An exciting game was when second ranked Second ranked Yulon Luxgen faced 4th placed Pauian. Yulon Luxgen (7-2) defeated Pauian (4-6) 78-74. Yulon Luxgen forced 22 Pauian turnovers. Strangely Pauian outrebounded Yulon Luxgen 48-34 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Shih-Yuan Chou (188-83) helped adding 16 points. Yulon Luxgen's coach Yong-Tai Wei used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Dacin Tigers outrebounded KKL 43-30 including a 37-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by KKL helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: N.Mexico St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Yi-Xiang Zhou (191-91) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side. Four Dacin Tigers players scored in double figures. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and guard Tai-Jie Wang (183-92) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for KKL in the defeat.
