After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the SBL and who belongs to weaker ones. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games.

Round 3 most important game was a defeat of Yulon Luxgen (4-2). They were defeated by Taiwan Beer (4-2) 69-58 on Saturday night. Taiwan Beer trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-58. Taiwan Beer had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Central African-American center Patrick O'Bryant (213-86, college: Bradley) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. International forward Cheng Liu (192-90) helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Aaron Pettway (211-80, college: Oklahoma St.) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Yulon Luxgen's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yulon Luxgen will play next round against strong Pure Youth trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Taiwan Beer will try to continue on its current victory against Taiwan Mobile at home.

It was an exceptional evening for forward Yi-Tsung Chu (186-86) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 7 rebounds. Norvel Pelle accounted for 15 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks. American center Aaron Pettway (211-80, college: Oklahoma St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for Yulon Luxgen in the defeat. Yulon Luxgen's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Dacin Tigers will play against Pure Youth in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yulon Luxgen will play against Pure Youth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Taiwan Mobile will again meet Taiwan Beer in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Taiwan Beer will play against Bank of Taiwan and hope to secure a win.

Pure Youth's next round opponent will be Dacin Tigers (#6) which should be theoretically an easy game. Bank of Taiwan will play against KKL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in was also quite interesting. Pure Youth (5-1) played at the court of KKL (1-5). Pure Youth managed to secure a 9-point victory 81-72 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Wen-Cheng Tsai who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Pure Youth's coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Pure Youth will face Dacin Tigers (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KKL will play against Bank of Taiwan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: KKL lost to Taiwan Mobile 81-87. Bottom-ranked Dacin Tigers unfortunately lost to Bank of Taiwan 83-93. KKL recorded a loss to Bank of Taiwan 73-78.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 4 assists by Bryan Davis of KKL.

Taiwan Mobile - KKL 87-81

The game between closely ranked teams ended with KKL's (1-5) loss to Taiwan Mobile (3-2) 81-87 on Sunday. KKL trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-87 at the end of the game. Taiwan Mobile forced 19 KKL turnovers. It was a great evening for American power forward Darian Townes (208-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Yu-Lin Chang (190-86) helped adding 24 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Bryan Davis (206-86, college: Texas A&M) with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 4 assists and guard An-Cheng Teng (189-85) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Taiwan Mobile will face Taiwan Beer in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KKL will play against Bank of Taiwan (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Bank of Taiwan - Pure Youth 82-86

Very significant was Pure Youth's (#2, 5-1) victory against Bank of Taiwan (3-4) 86-82. Pure Youth was already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 26-14 Bank of Taiwan's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 86-82 at the end of the game. Pure Youth forced 22 Bank of Taiwan turnovers and outrebounded them 47-32 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for international power forward Quincy Davis (206-83, college: Tulane, agency: Elite Talent Exchange) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. The former international swingman Ching-Pang Lin (190-85) contributed with 16 points and 5 steals for the winners. American center James Tyler (218-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and the former international forward Shun-Hsiang Chen (190-85) added 12 points in the effort for Bank of Taiwan. Four Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Pure Youth's next round opponent will be Dacin Tigers (#6) which should be theoretically an easy game. Bank of Taiwan will play against KKL and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rather predictable result when Bank of Taiwan (3-4) defeated Dacin Tigers (1-5) 93-83 on Saturday. Bank of Taiwan trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bank of Taiwan outrebounded Dacin Tigers 41-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American center James Tyler (218-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks. Forward Po-Wi Chanj (190-90) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. Tyler is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American forward Norvel Pelle (208-93, college: Iona) with 18 points and guard Yu-Chun Lo (185-88) scored 18 points. Four Bank of Taiwan and five Dacin Tigers players scored in double figures. Dacin Tigers' coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bank of Taiwan will face KKL (#7) in the next round. Dacin Tigers will play against Pure Youth and hope to win that game.

Fubon Braves - Pauian 73-69 Fubon Braves rallied past Pauian to narrow the deficit in the championship series. Fubon Braves started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-9. But Pauian won second period 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening.
