Syria clinches 9th place in Ulaanbaatar at the 22nd FIBA Asia U18 Championship. The team overcame India 86:76 as both teams finished the campaign.
Syria grabbed 20:17 after the first 10 minutes and added massive 22-12 in the second frame. India was too far to give up and replied with 30-27 in the third period as Palpreet Singh Brar (204-C-94) reduced to 69:59. India managed also to reduce to 8 points, but Okba Baghajati (182-G-94) brought 84:68. SAMINATHAN closed the game from the perimeter for the final result in the campaign.
Mahmmoud Trub (195-F-94) and Okba Baghajati combined for 50 points for the winners. Ali Obesi (188-F-94) nailed 13, while Mouhammad Shahin (192-F-94) scored 7. Palpreet Singh Brar finished the game with 27 points in defeat, whilst Rakesh Singh (198-PF-95) had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Amit Kanarjee (187-PG-94) scored 16 points and Narender Satyawan (176-PG-96) collected 9 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds.

Despite a very slow start from Lebanon against Syria, and in the absence of crucial starters such as Fadi El Khatib (198-F/G-79) & Wael Arakji(194-PG-94), the Lebanese basketball NT managed to finally win 78-64. Today's victory makes it 5 from 5 for the Cedars team, who finished the 2017 WABA Championship with a perfect record. 30-year old naturalized Syrian point guard Giannis Deep (186-86). He played last season at Ionikos Nikaias in the B. C will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
