U18 Championship: South Korea rally past Syria for second straight win - Aug 18, 2012

South Korea U18 - Syria U18 79:62

South Korea posted the second consecutive win at the start of U18 Asia Championship. They defeated Syria for 2-0 record on top of B. Syria suffered the initial loss and slipped at 1-1 record.
South Korea gained a 24:21 lead after ten minutes. They stayed in charge throughout the second quarter. The Korean team boosted the gap to 8-point mark at the interval 45:37. South Korea kept their opponents at bay throughout the third stanza. They extended the margin to as many as 14 points heading into the fourth quarter. Syria scored just 11 points in the fourth term and had to surrender at the end. Gibeom Cheon (187-G-94) scored 24 points to lead the winners. Jonghyun Lee (206-C-94) added 18 points, while Sangjae Kang (202-F-94) had 17 points for South Korea. Mouhammad Shahin (192-F-94) and Mohamad Atle (199-C-95) produced 11 points each in the loss.

Iranian hoopsters defeat Syria in FIBA Asia U18 WABA qualifier 2018 - 3 months ago
The Iran men's national under-17 basketball team has recorded its third victory at the Federation Internationale de Basket-ball (FIBA) Asia U18 West Asian Basketball Association (WABA) qualifier 2018 in Jordan, after trouncing Syria in the continental tournament.
