The margin kept on growing and reached a 28-point mark at the final intermission. Sri Lanka could not recover in the fourth stanza as Malaysia posted a comfortable win at the end. Chee Huei Liaw (187-F-93) produced 12 points for Malaysia. Wen Keong Tong (180-G-92) and Ivan Yeo (193-F-93) delivered 10 points each in the win.
