Naturalized American Forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Samsung Th. and that's him to receive a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 28-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and twenty two rebounds, while his team beat Anyang KGC (#6, 8-9) 82-74. Samsung Th. maintains the 5th position in South Korean KBL. Samsung Th. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-8 record. Ratliffe turned to be Samsung Th.'s top player in his first season with the team. University of Missouri graduate has very impressive stats this year. Ratliffe is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.2ppg and leads league in rebounds with 14.9rpg. Ratliffe is in league's top in and averages solid 1.3bpg and 61.6% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 36-year old American forward Aaron Haynes (201-F-81) of league's best team SK Knights. Haynes impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as SK Knights lost that game 73-82 to the lower-ranked ET Land (#4, 11-7). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. SK Knights still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. His team has currently 13-5 record. Haynes is a newcomer at SK Knights and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.3ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 10.6rpg and 7.1apg.

The third best performed player last round was American James Kelly (201-F-93) of LG Sakers (#8). Kelly scored 27 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Kelly's great performance LG Sakers lost 78-82 to the higher-ranked KCC Egis (#2, 13-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LG Sakers not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kelly could try to bring LG Sakers' a little bit higher in the standings. Kelly has a very solid season. In 7 games in South Korea he scored 21.6ppg.

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The biggest surprise of round 18 in KBL was guest Anyang KGC's (11-10) easy road victory over Mobis Phoebus (#7) 83-63 on Saturday evening. Anyang KGC dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Mobis Phoebus' 38. They outrebounded Mobis Phoebus 45-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. American Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sonic Boom KT, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 17. The 31-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 21 rebounds, while his team edged out Mobis Phoebus (#7, 9-11) 93-90. Sonic Boom KT maintains the 10th position in South Korean KBL. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked SK Knights as it allowed them to take a leadership position. SK Knights defeated 3rd placed KCC Egis in Seoul 94-81.
