Goyang Orions - Samsung Th. 84-91

Samsung Thunder toppled Goyang Orions to advance into KBL Finals. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Goyang Orions won fourth quarter 25-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Goyang Orions 37-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Samsung Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-89, college: Missouri) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). The former international forward Gregory Stevenson (197-78, college: Richmond) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Samsung Thunders players scored in double figures. American forward Aaron Haynes (201-81, college: Boise St.) answered with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international forward Dong-Wook Kim (194-81) added 14 points and 7 assists in the effort for Goyang Orions.

Oh's double-double lands him Player of the Week award - 4 days ago
30-year old center Sek-Eun Oh (200-C-87) had an amazing evening in the last round for Anyang KGC and receives a Player of the Week award for round 1. He had a double-double of 28 points and 20 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team ET Land (#7, 0-1) with 16-point margin 97-81. Anyang KGC is placed at 6th position in South Korean league. Anyang KGC is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings.    [read more]

The Regular Season in KBL just started. Dongbu Promy defeated KCC Egis in Wonju 81-76. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Deonte Burton (183-91, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds.
