The games are now more important than at the beginning of the Regular Season. We may still expect few shocking results in upcoming 4 rounds.

KBL top team - Anyang KGC (35-15) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat fifth ranked ET Land Elephants (24-27) in Inchon 95-86. ET Land Elephants trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 18 after three quarters before a 27-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 86-95 at the end of the game. Anyang KGC made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center David Simon (208-82, college: IPFW) scored 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Sek-Eun Oh (200-87) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward James Kelly (201-93, college: Marshall) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anyang KGC have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 35-15 record. ET Land Elephants lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with 27 games lost. Anyang KGC are looking forward to face bottom-ranked KCC Egis (#10) in Jeonju in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ET Land Elephants will play at home against Dongbu Promy (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Wonju was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Goyang Orions (33-17) played at the court of 5th ranked Dongbu Promy (24-26). Goyang Orions did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 90-71. American forward Aaron Haynes (201-81, college: Boise St.) notched 23 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Seung-Hyun Lee supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds. Even 25 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) did not help to save the game for Dongbu Promy. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Goyang Orions have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 33-17 record having just two points less than leader Anyang KGC. Dongbu Promy lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 26 games lost. Goyang Orions will play against Mobis Phoebus (#4) in Ulsan in the next round. Dongbu Promy will play on the road against ET Land Elephants in Inchon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Ninth-ranked Sonic Boom KT (17-34) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Mobis Phoebus (27-24) in Ulsan on Wednesday. Mobis Phoebus managed to secure only three-point victory 55-52. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Sonic Boom KT. Eric Wise fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Leon Williams produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for lost side. Sonic Boom KT's coach Seung-Gi Kim tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Mobis Phoebus maintains fourth position with 27-24 record. Sonic Boom KT at the other side keeps the ninth place with 34 games lost. Mobis Phoebus will meet league's second-placed Goyang Orions in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Sonic Boom KT will play against LG Sakers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 46 bottom-ranked KCC Egis lost to Samsung Th. on the opponent's court 75-80. ET Land unfortunately lost to LG Sakers in a home game 85-91.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 29 points and 16 rebounds by Ricardo Ratliffe of Samsung Th..

Samsung Th. - KCC Egis 80-75

Very expected game in Seoul where 10th ranked KCC Egis (16-35) were defeated by third ranked Samsung Thunders (32-18) 80-75 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. KCC Egis were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 24-17 charge of Samsung Thunders, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-89, college: Missouri) fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Four Samsung Thunders players scored in double figures. Samsung Thunders' coach Hoon-Keun Park used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Andre Emmett (196-82, college: Texas Tech) produced 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Ira Clark (203-75, college: Texas, agency: Stealth Sport) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Samsung Thunders maintains third position with 32-18 record having just three points less than leader Anyang KGC. KCC Egis lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 35 lost games. Samsung Thunders' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Seoul to the arena SK Knights.

Mobis Phoebus - Sonic Boom KT 55-52

The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 91-85. LG Sakers forced 20 ET Land Elephants turnovers. American swingman Mario Little (198-87, college: Kansas) fired 28 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five LG Sakers players scored in double figures. American forward James Kelly (201-93, college: Marshall) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and U.S. Virgin Islands forward Victor Cuthbert (197-83, college: Murray St.) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. The biggest surprise of round 18 in KBL was guest Anyang KGC's (11-10) easy road victory over Mobis Phoebus (#7) 83-63 on Saturday evening. American Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sonic Boom KT, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 17. The 31-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 21 rebounds, while his team edged out Mobis Phoebus (#7, 9-11) 93-90. Sonic Boom KT maintains the 10th position in South Korean KBL.
