James Mays
Experienced Central African-American James Mays (206-F/C-86) had a great game in the last round for LG Sakers and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 44.
The 30-year old power forward had a double-double of 38 points and sixteen rebounds, while his team beat Mobis Phoebus (#4, 26-23) 87-82. LG Sakers maintains the 7th position in South Korean KBL. LG Sakers is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 22-26 record. Mays turned to be LG Sakers' top player in his first season with the team. Clemson University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mays is in league's top in points (7th best: 22.5ppg), rebounds (4th best: 11.9rpg) and averages solid 53.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 27-year old American forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) of second-ranked Samsung Th.. Ratliffe impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Samsung Th. lost that game 73-82 to slightly higher-ranked Anyang KGC (#1, 33-15). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Samsung Th. still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 31-17 record is not bad at all. Ratliffe is a newcomer at Samsung Th. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.4ppg (#4). He also registered 13.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Aaron Haynes (201-F-81) of Goyang Orions (#3). Haynes showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and nine assists in the last round. Despite Haynes' great performance Goyang Orions lost 79-82 to the lower-ranked Sonic Boom KT (#10, 16-33). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Goyang Orions needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 30 victories and 17 lost games. Haynes has a great season in South Korea. After 35 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.3ppg (2nd best). He also has 1.0bpg and FGP: 54.6%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Keifer Sykes (183-PG-93) of Anyang KGC - 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists
5. David Simon (208-C-82) of Anyang KGC - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Sek-Eun Oh (200-C-87) of Anyang KGC - 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Nate Miller (193-G-87) of Mobis Phoebus - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) of Sonic Boom KT - 16 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists
9. James Singleton (203-F-81) of SK Knights - 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Jae-Do Lee (180-PG-91) of Sonic Boom KT - 21 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
