Naturalized American Forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Samsung Th., receiving a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 40.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Mobis Phoebus (#5, 23-21) 82-76. It allowed Samsung Th. to consolidate first place in the South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Samsung Th. has a very solid 30-15 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Ratliffe turned to be Samsung Th.'s top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Missouri star has very solid stats this year. Ratliffe is in league's top in points (5th best: 23.3ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.1rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 65.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 34-year old American Andre Emmett (196-F-82) of KCC Egis. Emmett had a very good evening with 33 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course KCC Egis cruised to a 95-85 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Samsung Th. (#1, 30-15). KCC Egis' 9th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 15-30 record. Emmett is a newcomer at KCC Egis, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.8ppg (#1). He also registered 7.2 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) of Sonic Boom KT (#10). Williams scored 22 points and grabbed eighteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Sonic Boom KT, leading his team to a 69-66 win against the higher-ranked Anyang KGC (#2, 30-15). The chances of Sonic Boom KT not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 30 games, recording just fourteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Williams could try to bring Sonic Boom KT's a little bit higher in the standings. Williams has individually a great season in South Korea. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.0rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. David Simon (208-C-82) of Anyang KGC - 18 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Gregory Stevenson (197-F-78) of Samsung Th. - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Jong-Hyun Lee (206-C-94) of Mobis Phoebus - 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Wendell McKines (198-F-88) of Dongbu Promy - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Kyo-Chang Song (200-F-96) of KCC Egis - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Sek-Eun Oh (200-C-87) of Anyang KGC - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
10. James Mays (206-F/C-86) of LG Sakers - 26 points and 6 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
