David Simon
Experienced American David Simon (208-C-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Anyang KGC and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 38.
The 34-year old center had a double-double of 22 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat KCC Egis (#9, 14-29) in overtime 86-77. It allowed Anyang KGC to consolidate first place in the South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Anyang KGC has a very solid 30-13 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Simon turned to be Anyang KGC's top player in his first season with the team. Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ.-Ft.Wayne graduate has very impressive stats this year. Simon is in league's top in points (4th best: 23.4ppg), rebounds (7th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 58.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old international guard Sun-Hyung Kim (187-G-88) of SK Knights. Kim impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course SK Knights cruised to a 81-71 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Sonic Boom KT (#10, 13-30). SK Knights' 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 17-26 record. Kim is one of the most experienced players at SK Knights and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Wendell McKines (198-F-88) of Dongbu Promy (#4). McKines scored 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite McKines' great performance Dongbu Promy lost 78-82 to slightly lower-ranked Mobis Phoebus (#5, 22-20). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Dongbu Promy needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 23 victories and 21 lost games. McKines has a very solid season. In 44 games in South Korea he scored 18.5ppg. He also has 7.8rpg and FGP: 52.1%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Terrico White (196-G-90) of SK Knights - 29 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Andre Emmett (196-F-82) of KCC Egis - 34 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) of Sonic Boom KT - 20 points and 11 rebounds
7. O'Darien Bassett (189-G-86) of Goyang Orions - 18 points, 2 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Sek-Eun Oh (200-C-87) of Anyang KGC - 15 points and 16 rebounds
9. Si-Rae Kim (179-PG-89) of LG Sakers - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists
10. Seung-Hyun Lee (201-C-92) of Goyang Orions - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
