Ninth-ranked KCC Egis (14-29) made lots of trouble for first ranked Anyang KGC (30-13) in Jeonju on Thursday. The visitors from Anyang managed to secure only nine-point victory 86-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was David Simon who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks. Anyang KGC's coach Yu-Wan Song used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Anyang KGC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-13 record. KCC Egis lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 29 games lost. Anyang KGC will face Goyang Orions (#3) in Daegu in the next round, which may be the game of the day. KCC Egis will play at home against Mobis Phoebus (#5) and hope to win that game.

KCC Egis - Anyang KGC 77-86 OT

Ninth-ranked KCC Egis (14-29) made lots of trouble for first ranked Anyang KGC (30-13) in Jeonju on Thursday. The visitors from Anyang managed to secure only nine-point victory 86-77. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime then KCC Egis managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Anyang KGC who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-4. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Anyang KGC made 10 blocks. KCC Egis were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American center David Simon (208-82, college: IPFW) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks. The former international center Sek-Eun Oh (200-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Anyang KGC's coach Yu-Wan Song used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Andre Emmett (196-82, college: Texas Tech) produced 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Jun-Yeong Han added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anyang KGC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-13 record. KCC Egis lost third consecutive game. Goyang Orions - SK Knights 92-85

There was no surprise in Daegu where 8th ranked SK Knights (17-26) were defeated by third ranked Goyang Orions (28-15) 92-85 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 7 points. Goyang Orions dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to SK Knights' 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international center Seung-Hyun Lee (201-92) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Aaron Haynes (201-81, college: Boise St.) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Goyang Orions players scored in double figures. American guard Terrico White (196-90, college: Mississippi) produced 29 points and 6 assists and international guard Sun-Hyung Kim (187-88) added 25 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Defending champion maintains third position with 28-15 record having just two points less than leader Anyang KGC. SK Knights at the other side keep the eighth place with 26 games lost. Goyang Orions will face league's leader Anyang KGC at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SK Knights will play against ET Land Elephants (#6) in Inchon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Inchon where seventh ranked ET Land Elephants (20-23) defeated 6th ranked LG Sakers (19-23) 82-70 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by ET Land Elephants. LG Sakers was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ET Land Elephants looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Chan-Hee Park (190-87) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists. U.S. Virgin Islands forward Victor Cuthbert (197-83, college: Murray St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five ET Land Elephants players scored in double figures. Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and international point guard Si-Rae Kim (179-89) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. LG Sakers' coach Gang-Yang Taek rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. ET Land Elephants moved-up to sixth place. LG Sakers at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 23 games lost. ET Land Elephants will face SK Knights (#8) in Seoul in the next round. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 52-41 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Mobis Phoebus especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Eric Wise (198-90, college: USC) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds.
