The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Samsung Thunders (27-13) in Daegu on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked Goyang Orions (26-14) 96-90. Samsung Thunders trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 25-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 90-96 at the end of the game. Goyang Orions looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for international center Seung-Hyun Lee (201-92) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). American forward Aaron Haynes (201-81, college: Boise St.) contributed with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-89, college: Missouri) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for Samsung Thunders. Goyang Orions have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains third position with 26-14 record behind leader Samsung Th. Samsung Thunders at the other side still keep top place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Anyang KGC. Goyang Orions are looking forward to face ET Land Elephants (#7) in Inchon in the next round. Samsung Thunders will play at home against Sonic Boom KT (#10) and are hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Sonic Boom KT managed to get a eleventh victory. This time they won against fourth-ranked Mobis Phoebus in Ulsan 83-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mobis Phoebus. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds and Hyeon-Min Kim who added 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Sonic Boom KT's coach Seung-Gi Kim allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Sonic Boom KT maintains tenth position with 11-28 record. Mobis Phoebus at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 19 games lost. Sonic Boom KT will play against league's leader Samsung Thunders in Seoul in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mobis Phoebus will play on the road against ET Land Elephants (#7) in Inchon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The winners were led by Keifer Sykes who scored that evening 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds by Wendell McKines did not help to save the game for Dongbu Promy. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anyang KGC used an opportunity after Samsung Th. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Dongbu Promy dropped to the fourth place with 19 games lost. Anyang KGC will meet at home LG Sakers (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Dongbu Promy will play against KCC Egis and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 36 ET Land was beaten by Dongbu Promy on the road 80-76. LG Sakers won against KCC Egis on its own court 86-76.

Mobis Phoebus - Sonic Boom KT 78-83

Bottom-ranked Sonic Boom KT managed to get a eleventh victory. This time they won against fourth-ranked Mobis Phoebus in Ulsan 83-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Mobis Phoebus. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds and forward Hyeon-Min Kim (200-87) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Dongbu Promy - ET Land 80-76

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Dongbu Promy's (22-19) home victory over 6th ranked ET Land Elephants (18-22) in Wonju 80-76 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 36-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American power forward Rodrique Benson (207-84, college: California) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) supported him with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 12 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists by the former international guard Chan-Hee Park (190-87) did not help to save the game for ET Land Elephants. U.S. Virgin Islands forward Victor Cuthbert (197-83, college: Murray St.) added 9 points and 15 rebounds. Five Dongbu Promy and four ET Land Elephants players scored in double figures. Dongbu Promy moved-up to fourth place. ET Land Elephants lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 22 games lost. Dongbu Promy will meet at home KCC Egis (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. ET Land Elephants will play against Goyang Orions and hope to secure a win.

LG Sakers - KCC Egis 86-76

Rather expected game when 9th ranked KCC Egis (14-27) lost to seventh ranked LG Sakers (18-21) in Changwon 76-86 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by LG Sakers. KCC Egis managed to win second period 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Central African-American power forward James Mays (206-86, college: Clemson) who scored that evening 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American swingman Mario Little (198-87, college: Kansas) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five LG Sakers players scored in double figures. Even 32 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Andre Emmett (196-82, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for KCC Egis. His fellow American import power forward Ira Clark (203-75, college: Texas, agency: Stealth Sport) added 20 points and 6 rebounds. KCC Egis' coach Jeong-Seong Yu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. LG Sakers moved-up to sixth place. Loser KCC Egis keep the ninth position with 27 games lost. LG Sakers will meet league's second-placed Anyang KGC on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Strangely Dongbu Promy outrebounded Anyang KGC 46-29 including a 27-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Anyang KGC made 8 blocks. American Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sonic Boom KT, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 17. The 31-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 21 rebounds, while his team edged out Mobis Phoebus (#7, 9-11) 93-90. Sonic Boom KT maintains the 10th position in South Korean KBL.
