Andre Emmett
American Forward Andre Emmett (196-F-82) had a great game in the last round for KCC Egis, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 34.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 46 points and 17 rebounds, while his team beat Sonic Boom KT (#10, 10-28) 100-95. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. KCC Egis maintains the 9th position in South Korean KBL. KCC Egis is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 14-26 record. In the team's last game Emmett had a remarkable 63.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be KCC Egis' top player in his first season with the team. Former Texas Tech University star has very solid stats this year. Emmett is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.9ppg. Emmett

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old American forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) of league's leader Samsung Th.. Ratliffe had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Samsung Th. was edged by the lower-ranked SK Knights (#8, 16-24) 74-70. Samsung Th. managed to keep the same 1st spot in the standings. His team has currently 27-12 record. Ratliffe is a newcomer at Samsung Th., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.1ppg (#5). He also registered 13.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Central African forward James Mays (206-F/C-86) of LG Sakers (#7). Mays scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds. Despite Mays' great performance LG Sakers lost 76-93 to the higher-ranked Mobis Phoebus (#4, 21-18). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of LG Sakers ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 21 games, recording just seventeen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Mays could help LG Sakers to bring them higher in the standings. Mays has a great season in South Korea. After 37 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.5ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 12.0rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jong-Hyun Lee (206-C-94) of Mobis Phoebus - 17 points and 6 rebounds
5. Wendell McKines (198-F-88) of Dongbu Promy - 21 points and 11 rebounds
6. Nate Miller (193-G-87) of Mobis Phoebus - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) of Sonic Boom KT - 17 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists
8. SungJin Park (182-G-86) of ET Land - 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Jung-Hyun Lee (191-F-87) of Anyang KGC - 24 points and 3 assists
10. Ira Clark (203-C/F-75) of KCC Egis - 24 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

KBL Round 29: SK Knights are defeated by Mobis Phoebus - 5 days ago
What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. The game between second ranked SK Knights (22-12) and fourth ranked Mobis Phoebus (21-13) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. SK Knights were defeated by Mobis Phoebus in a tough game in Seoul 92-98. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SK Knights. Mobis Pho...   [read more]
