David Simon
Experienced American David Simon (208-C-82) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Anyang KGC and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 29.
The 34-year old center had a double-double of 30 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team beat ET Land (#5, 17-17) 81-70. It allowed Anyang KGC to jump to the first place in the South Korean KBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Anyang KGC has a very solid 23-9 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Simon had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Anyang KGC's top player in his first season with the team. Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ.-Ft.Wayne graduate has very impressive stats this year. Simon is in league's top in points (2nd best: 24.1ppg), rebounds (6th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 62.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American Leon Williams (203-C/F-86) of Sonic Boom KT. Williams impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 33 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Sonic Boom KT lost that game 80-87 to the higher-ranked Mobis Phoebus (#6, 17-17). Sonic Boom KT are still at the very bottom. 25 lost games are too many comparing to just nine victories Sonic Boom KT managed to get this year. Williams is a newcomer at Sonic Boom KT and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.2ppg (#9). He also registered 12.2 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Andre Emmett (196-F-82) of KCC Egis (#9). Emmett got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . Despite Emmett's great performance KCC Egis lost 78-80 to slightly higher-ranked LG Sakers (#7, 15-19). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of KCC Egis not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 23 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Emmett could try to bring KCC Egis' a little bit higher in the standings. Emmett has a very solid season. In 4 games in South Korea he scored 19.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) of Samsung Th. - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Victor Cuthbert (197-F-83) of ET Land - 24 points and 11 rebounds
6. Nate Miller (193-G-87) of Mobis Phoebus - 26 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Ivan Aska (201-F-90) of ET Land - 26 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
8. Jun-Beom Yang (195-F-91) of Mobis Phoebus - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Sun-Hyung Kim (187-G-88) of SK Knights - 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists
10. Mario Little (198-F/G-87) of LG Sakers - 27 points and 7 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
