The most shocking disappointment of round 24 in the KBL was a home defeat of 6th ranked LG Sakers (13-18) to seventh ranked Goyang Orions (14-17) 78-74 in the game for the sixth place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-12. But LG Sakers won third quarter 25-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Goyang Orions shot 62.0 percent from the field. Worth to mention a great performance of Belizean-American power forward Leon Williams (203-86, college: Ohio) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) and naturalized American guard Tony Akins (180-80, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Court Side) who added 14 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Woo-Sub Yaung (185-85) with 25 points. LG Sakers' coach Jin Kim rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Goyang Orions moved-up to sixth place. LG Sakers lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with Samsung Th.. Goyang Orions are looking forward to face Samsung Thunders (#8) in Seoul in the next round. LG Sakers will play at home against Sonic Boom KT in Busan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Busan. Sixth ranked Sonic Boom KT (15-17) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked ET Land Elephants (20-11) 65-62 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by American forward Jasper Johnson (203-83, college: Delta St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and Jaeseok Jang supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Carlos Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) did not help to save the game for ET Land Elephants. ET Land Elephants' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sonic Boom KT moved-up to fifth place. ET Land Elephants at the other side keep the third position with 11 games lost. Sonic Boom KT will play against LG Sakers (#7) in Changwon in the next round. ET Land Elephants will play on the road against Dongbu Promy (#9) in Wonju and hope to get back on the winning track.
The game in Seoul was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Sonic Boom KT (15-17) played at the court of 7th ranked Samsung Thunders (13-18). Sonic Boom KT managed to secure a 8-point victory 76-68 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Jasper Johnson who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Darian Townes who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sonic Boom KT moved-up to fifth place. Loser Samsung Thunders keep the seventh position with 18 games lost. They share it with LG Sakers. Sonic Boom KT will meet LG Sakers (#7) in the next round. Samsung Thunders will play against Goyang Orions in Daegu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a good game for Kibwe Trim who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. KCC Egis' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Anyang KGC have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 16-15 record. KCC Egis lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Anyang KGC's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Mobis Phoebus in Ulsan and it may be the game of the week. KCC Egis will play at home against LG Sakers (#7) in Changwon.

In the last two games of round 24 Samsung Th. lost to Dongbu Promy on the opponent's court 55-59. Mobis Phoebus managed to outperform Dongbu Promy in a home game 78-63.



Sonic Boom KT - ET Land 65-62

Important game to mention about took place in Busan. Sixth ranked Sonic Boom KT (15-17) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked ET Land Elephants (20-11) 65-62 on Sunday evening. ET Land Elephants were ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 19-13 charge of Sonic Boom KT, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American forward Jasper Johnson (203-83, college: Delta St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds and center Jaeseok Jang (205-91) supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds. KCC Egis - Anyang KGC 57-78

10th ranked KCC Egis (5-26) were outscored at home by fourth ranked Anyang KGC (16-15) with the biggest margin this round 78-57. The game was mostly controlled by Anyang KGC. KCC Egis was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 25 personal fouls committed by KCC Egis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart, agency: Top Notch Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Jung-Hyun Lee (191-87) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Anyang KGC players scored in double figures. American power forward Andre Brown (206-81, college: De Paul, agency: Interperformances) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and guard Tae-Hyeong Kim (185-88) added 17 points in the effort for KCC Egis. There was a minor upset in Wonju where 7th ranked Samsung Thunders (13-18) were defeated by ninth ranked Dongbu Promy (13-19) 59-55. Samsung Thunders were ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 17-11 charge of Dongbu Promy, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 20 Samsung Thunders turnovers. It was a good game for German-American forward Julian Sensley (206-82, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International power forward Eric Sandrin (206-78, college: Seattle Pacific) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Darian Townes (208-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Daniel Sandrin (200-80, college: Seattle Pacific) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Samsung Thunders. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dongbu Promy maintains ninth position with 13-19 record. Samsung Thunders at the other side keep the seventh place with 18 games lost. Dongbu Promy's next round opponent will be higher ranked ET Land Elephants (#3) in Inchon and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

The game in Seoul was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Sonic Boom KT (15-17) played at the court of 7th ranked Samsung Thunders (13-18). Sonic Boom KT managed to secure a 8-point victory 76-68 on Saturday. Samsung Thunders trailed by 18 points at halftime and as many as 20 after three quarters before a 26-14 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 68-76 at the end of the game. Strangely Samsung Thunders outrebounded Sonic Boom KT 38-19 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Jasper Johnson (203-83, college: Delta St.) who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Sung-Min Cho (197-83) chipped in 18 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Darian Townes (208-84) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Daniel Sandrin (200-80, college: Seattle Pacific) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sonic Boom KT moved-up to fifth place. Very predictable result in Ulsan where second ranked Mobis Phoebus (22-9) defeated 9th ranked Dongbu Promy (13-19) 78-63. They outrebounded Dongbu Promy 40-19 including a 26-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-89, college: Missouri) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. The former international power forward Ji-Hoon Ham (198-84) contributed with 14 points for the winners. International power forward Eric Sandrin (206-78, college: Seattle Pacific) replied with 13 points and the former international power forward Joo-Sung Kim (205-79) added 14 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Dongbu Promy. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dongbu Promy's coach Dong Hae Kang let to play twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending champion maintains second position with 22-9 record having just three points less than leader SK Knights. Dongbu Promy at the other side keeps the ninth place with 19 games lost.
