American Jasper Johnson (201-C-83) put on an amazing game in the last round for Sonic Boom KT and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 22. The 29-year old center had a double-double of 32 points and twelve rebounds, while his team beat Anyang KGC (#4, 13-15) 83-75. Thanks to this victory Sonic Boom KT moved-up to the 6th position in the South Korean KBL. Sonic Boom KT is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-16 record. In the team's last game Johnson had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Sonic Boom KT's top player in his first season with the team. Delta State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Johnson is in league's top in points (5th best: 17.4ppg), rebounds (9th best: 7.9rpg) and averages solid 52.6% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 23-year old American forward Ricardo Ratliffe (203-F-89) of second-ranked Mobis Phoebus. Ratliffe impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he lead Mobis Phoebus to another comfortable win 71-53 over the lower-ranked Goyang Orions (#8, 12-17) being unquestionably team leader. Mobis Phoebus' second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 21-8 record is not bad at all. Ratliffe is a newcomer at Mobis Phoebus and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.9ppg (#8). He also registered 9.2 boards per game.
The third best performed player last round was American Juan Pattillo (197-F-88) of Anyang KGC (#4). Pattillo got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . Despite Pattillo's great performance Anyang KGC lost 75-83 to slightly lower-ranked Sonic Boom KT (#6, 13-16). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Anyang KGC ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 15 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Pattillo could help Anyang KGC to bring them higher in the standings. Pattillo has a great season in South Korea. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.4ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 8.6rpg (5th best).
Other top performing players last week: 4. Sung-Min Cho (197-F-83) of Sonic Boom KT - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists 5. Andre Brown (206-F/C-81) of KCC Egis - 17 points and 10 rebounds 6. Leon Williams (203-F/C-86) of Goyang Orions - 16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Sung-Min Cho (197-F-83) of Sonic Boom KT - 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 10. Jaeseok Jang (205-C-91) of Sonic Boom KT - 15 points and 10 rebounds
