Woori Bank Hansae (WKBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 37-year old USA ex-international forward Tina Thompson (188-81kg-75, college: USC, agency: Merit Sports). She played last summer at Seattle Storm (WNBA). In 32 games she recorded 8.7ppg and 3.8rpg. She helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
Thompsons team made it to the WNBA Semifinals in 2005 and 2009.
She received also All-Romanian League Player of the Year award and All-Romanian League Import Player of the Year award in 2010 at her college time. Thompson represented USA at the Olympic Games in Beijing (China) four years ago. Her team won Gold and her stats at that event were 8 games: 12.8ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.5apg, FGP: 52.7%, 3PT: 40.9%, FT: 73.9%.
Thompson is quite experienced player. She has played also in Italy (Rovereto), Russia (Spartak Vidnoye), WNBA (Houston Comets and Los Angeles Sparks), Romania (CSM Targoviste) and South Korea (KB Stars and Falcons).
Thompson is close to retirement age as a player. Its very possible she may end her playing career at Woori Hansae.
Thompson attended University of Southern California until 1997 and it will be her 16th (!!!) season as a professional player.

Kim Dan-bi helps South Korea seize William Jones title - 2 months ago

South Korea's women captured the William Jones Cup title by edging Taiwan A 64-63 in the dying seconds, while Japan secured second place, devastating Thailand 90-34 in final-day results from New Taipei City's Sinjhuang Gymnasium yesterday. Forward Kim Dan-Bi (176-F-91) was brilliant in directing the offense and in the key play of the game she dribbled past Taiwan players under the post for a lay-up with four seconds left for the win. Kim led her team with 19 points, while teammate Yoon Mi...   [read more]
