Top ranked S-Birds (28-11) recorded its eleventh loss in Yongin on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by fourth ranked Bichumi (21-18) 79-78. Bichumi dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to S-Birds' 30 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Bichumi forced 21 S-Birds turnovers. The best player for the winners was international swingman Kimberly Roberson (178-86, college: Indiana) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. International center Seon-Hwa Lee (181-88) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Youn-Ah Choi (170-85) produced 16 points and 8 assists for the guests. Bichumi maintains fourth position with 21-18 record. S-Birds lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion still keep top place with 11 games lost. Bichumi are looking forward to face league's second-placed KB Stars in Seoul in the next round and it may be the game of the week. S-Birds will play at home against Woori Hansae in Chuncheon and are hoping to win this game. Sixth-ranked Woori Hansae (7-32) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Cool Cats (16-23) in Chuncheon. The visitors from Bucheon managed to secure only one-point victory 61-60. However their fans expected easier game. International guard Ji-Yoon Kim (170-76) saved the victory by scoring 20 points and 8 assists. Yun-Ha Heo contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Hye-Yoon Bae (182-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for Woori Hansae. Cool Cats have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 16-23 record. Woori Hansae at the other side stay dead last with 32 lost games. Cool Cats will play against higher ranked Winnus (#3) in Guri in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Woori Hansae will play on the road against the league's leader S-Birds in Anshan and hopes to get back on the winning track. An exciting game was played in Guri. Third ranked Winnus faced 4th ranked Bichumi. Host Winnus (22-16) defeated guests from Yongin (21-18) 73-67. Jung Ja Sin scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Jung-Eun Park responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Winnus moved-up to second place, which they share with KB Stars. Loser Bichumi keeps the fourth position with 18 games lost. Winnus will meet Cool Cats (#5) in the next round. Bichumi will play against the league's second-placed KB Stars in Seoul and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Four Winnus players scored in double figures. International forward Jung-Eun Park (180-77) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and international center Seon-Hwa Lee (181-88) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Logan Thunder (WNBL) agreed terms with 34-year old USA ex-international center Ruth Riley (196-90kg-79, college: Notre Dame). She supposed to play at Woori Hansae in South Korean WKBL. The last summer Riley played at Chicago in WNBA. In 33 games she had just 2.7ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.0apg. The last () season she played at Liaoning Hengye (WCBA) in Chinese league. In 29 games she recorded 13.6ppg, 11.0rpg (#4 in the league) and 1.5apg. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. Quite impressive season as she was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Chinese WCBA 2nd Team. The previous (2011) summer Riley played at San Antonio Silver Stars in WNBA. In 37 games she recorded 5.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.4apg. She contributed to her team making it to the quarterfinals. The last (2011) season Riley played at Athinaikos (A1) in Greek league. In 23 games she recorded 9.5ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.3apg, 1.1spg and 1.0bpg. Quite impressive season as she was voted Eurobasket.com All-Greek League Center of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team. She also played 10 games in Eurocup where she recorded 8.6ppg, 5.1rpg, 1.0apg and 1.7bpg. Riley represented USA at the Olympic Games in Athens nine years ago. She is quite experienced player. Riley has played also professionally in Latvia (TTT Riga), Poland, Spain (Maquinaria Ensino and Rivas Ecopolis), WNBA (Tulsa Shock) and NWBL (Colorado C.). She attended University of Notre Dame until 2001 and it is her twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player. Riley could be described: Ruth is an intelligent player who has an excellent understanding of the game, both offensively and defensively. She is a big post player who moves extremely well for her size. She has nice post moves and a nice jump shot up to 4-5 mtrs from the basket. She is a solid defender, good rebounder and an especially good shot blocker.
