Jobstreet.com Singapore Slingers (ASEAN League) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 35-year old Australian ex-international center Luke Schenscher (216-120kg-82, college: Georgia Tech). He played last summer at Townsville Heat in Australian QBL. In 11 games he recorded 14.6ppg, 6.6rpg and 1.6apg. Schenscher helped them to win the regular season and make it to the semifinals. The last season he played at Townsville Crocodiles (NBL) in Australian league where in 13 games he averaged 4.1ppg and 3.2rpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Schenscher received Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL Center of the Year award back in 2011.
He was a member of Australian international program for some years. Schenscher was called to Australian Senior National Team between 2001 and 2011 and previously for U21 National Team in 2001.
He is quite experienced player. Thanks to Schenscher's pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America) in four different countries. Schenscher has played previously professionally in Germany (Brose Baskets), NBA (Chicago Bulls), Australia (Adelaide 36ers, Perth Wildcats and Eastern Mavericks) and D-League (Ft.Worth F.).
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Singapore Slingers.
Schenscher attended Georgia Tech until 2005 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Intelligent player who became a consistent scorer around the basket, an excellent passer and a solid defender in the post ... Excellent passer for a big man, and can score with either hand.

Slingers Win First Merlion Cup Game in Rout over Dinos, 89-69 - 7 hours ago
The Singapore Slingers hadn't played in a long while, but were ready for their first game in the Merlion Cup 2017 against the Yulon Luxgen Dinos from Chinese-Taipei. It didn't look like the usual Singapore Slingers that fans had gotten used to see play in the OCBC Arena over the past two seasons. The regular faces like Xavier Alexander (198-G-88, college: S.Nazarene), Wong Wei Long, and Ng Hanbin (193-G/F-89) were there but it just felt a little off without having Justin Howard (209-C-81,...   [read more]

Slingers cruise to opening Merlion Cup win - 1 day ago
The Singapore Slingers used a balanced offence and scrappy defence to cruise to a straightforward 89-69 over Taiwan's Yulon Luxgen Dinos in their Merlion Cup 2017 game on Wednesday (Sep 20) at the OCBC Arena. Five Slingers scored in double figures, led by debutant centre Ryan Wright (206-C/F-87, college: Oklahoma) with 23 points. Fellow import Xavier Alexander (198-G-88, college: S.Nazarene) just missed out on a triple-double with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. The trio of Russel Lo...   [read more]

New boys out to get Slingers shot at Merlion Cup - 5 days ago
After losing back-to-back Asean Basketball League (ABL) Finals, the Singapore Slingers are hoping a pair of potential signings will provide that winning edge. Filipino guard Mikee Reyes and Canadian Ryan Wright(206-C/F-87, college: Oklahoma) have been added to the Slingers' 12-man squad for this month's Merlion Cup, which head coach Neo Beng Siang will use as an audition for the duo. Besides the hosts, the Sept 20-24 invitational tournament at the OCBC Arena features the Shanghai Sharks (...   [read more]
