Jobstreet.com Singapore Slingers (ASEAN League) added to their roster experienced 35-year old American center Justin Howard (208-127kg-81, college: Mercer). It is actually his comeback to Singapore Slingers as he has played here before. The last time (16) he played at Hitech in Thailand TBL league. He missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball. Howard's team won Thailand Basketball League Regular Season. He was voted Asia-Basket.com All-ASEAN League Player of the Year in 2016.
Howard is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in eleven different countries. Howard tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Argentina, Bahrain (Al Hala), Chile, Finland (UU-Korihait), Germany (BG Karlsruhe), Indonesia (Satria Muda), Mexico (Marineros and Fuerza Guinda Nogales), Spain (Andorra and CB Guadalajara), Syria, Thailand (Thailand Slammers) and Vietnam (Saigon Heat).
Howard is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Singapore Slingers.
Howard attended Mercer University until 2003 and it will be his 14th (!!!) season as a professional player.
On Howard: Justin is an extremely big player. Not only is he tall (209cm) But he also has a very wide and strong body. It is almost impossible to push him out of the paint once he establishes position. He is a hard worker who gets up and down the court well (when in condition) for a player his size. A true 5 man who has the potential.

Singapore then stepped on the accelerator in the third period to double the lead to a whopping 40 points....   [read more]
