NBL Round 9: Min Yi is defeated by Siglap in a derby game - Aug 29, 2016

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Singapore: Siglap (#4) and Min Yi (#8). Min Yi was crushed at home by 16 points 48-64 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Siglap have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with SBPHK H. Min Yi lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Siglap's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Singapore SAFSA.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Singapore: Adroit - TRT (#1) and Tong Whye (#6). Adroit - TRT (7-1) crushed visiting Tong Whye (4-4) by 33 points 78-45. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tong Whye. Adroit - TRT have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-1 record, which they share with SAFSA. Tong Whye at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Adroit - TRT's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Singapore .
Bottom-ranked Youth Select (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to third ranked SBPHK H. (6-1) 88-45 on Sunday evening. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for SBPHK H.. They maintain third place with 6-1 record behind leader Adroit - TRT, which they share with Siglap. Youth Select lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. SBPHK H.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Singapore SinKee.

Chong Chee - Tagawa 60-76

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two teams from Singapore: Tagawa (#9) and Chong Chee (#7). Xin Hua Sports Club and SAFSA reached the Final in Singapore. Xin Hua Sports Club overcame Siglap 62-51. Yap Ching Poh stepped up with 17 points and Ubanan scored 9. Khoo Huat netted 13 in a loss, whilst Low Jun and Chong Xuan delivered 12 each. SAFSA grabbed a 51-50 win over the Hornets.
