NBL Round 6: Leader Siglap loses to Adroit - TRT - Aug 22, 2016

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Siglap (3-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Adroit - TRT (5-1) 70-61. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Siglap. Adroit - TRT have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Siglap at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Adroit - TRT are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Youth Select (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Siglap will play against Tampines WM (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Very important is a home loss of first ranked SinKee (4-1) against fifth ranked SAFSA (4-1) on Sunday night. Host SinKee was defeated by SAFSA in 82-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of SinKee. It was a key game for the second position in the league. SAFSA have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with SinKee and SBPHK H. SAFSA will play against Chong Chee (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. SinKee will play against Tong Whye (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Singapore. Local Tampines WM (1-4) lost to tenth ranked Chong Chee (2-4) 64-46 on Sunday night. Chong Chee moved-up to seventh place. Loser Tampines WM dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Min Yi. Chong Chee will meet at home higher ranked SAFSA (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tampines WM will play against Siglap (#5) and hope to win that game.

In the last two games of round 6 Tong Whye defeated Tagawa in a road game 66-57. SBPHK H. beat Min Yi at home 68-53.

Tagawa - Tong Whye 57-66

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 6th ranked Tagawa (1-3) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Tong Whye (2-3) 66-57 on Sunday. Tong Whye moved-up to sixth place. Loser Tagawa dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Tong Whye will meet at home higher ranked SinKee (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tagawa will play against the league's second-placed SBPHK H. (#2) and hope to win that game.

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked SBPHK H. (4-1) defeated at home 9th ranked Min Yi (1-4) 68-53 on Sunday. SBPHK H. have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with SAFSA and SinKee. Min Yi lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with Tampines WM. SBPHK H. will meet Tagawa (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Min Yi will have a break next round.

The Singapore men's basketball team thrashed Laos 103-51 to win their second SEA Games Group B match at Stadium MABA in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
