Philippines registered the second straight win at the start of SEABA U18 Championship. The defending champions knocked down hosting Singapore for 2-0 record. Rodolfo Alejandro (175-G-95) came up with 13 points to pace the winners. Philippines eked out a narrow 16:13 lead after ten minutes. They maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. Philippines ensured a 35:30 halftime advantage. Singapore increased the tempo and narrowed the deficit before the fourth frame. They got within three points at the final intermission 52:55. But Philippines dominated in the final quarter and rolled to a confident victory. Rey Benedict accounted for 12 points, while Kyles Lao (183-G-95) had 10 points in the win. Chiang Kok (199-C-95) answered with 17 points for Singapore. Ding Tay finished with 15 points in the loss.

The Singapore Slingers are out of ASEAN League playoff race. They lost tonight to the Indonesia Warriors and got eliminated from the battle for the fourth position in the ladder. The Thailand Slammers will be the last (fourth) participant of the playoffs. Chris Daniels (200-PF-82, college: Georgia) stepped up with 15 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Warriors to the victory today. The hosts jumped to a 13:6 lead midway through the first quarter. The Warriors though capped the opening period on a 9:2 rally to gain 15:13 lead. The visitors maintained the advantage throughout the second period. The Warriors arrived at halftime up by 7 points 33:26. The Slingers sparked intrigue late in the period cutting the deficit at 3-point mark. But the Warriors quickly responded and entered the fourth frame up by 8 points. They never looked back in the fourth term and sealed the win at the end. Stanley Pringle (184-PG-87, college: Penn St.), Jerick Canada (170-G) and Steve Thomas (204-C/F-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) notched 12 points apiece for the visitors.
