Darrell
Wonge
Moncton Miracles (NBL Canada) agreed terms with 31-year old American forward Darrell Wonge (199-86, college: Winston Salem, agency: Interperformances). It is actually his comeback to Moncton Miracles as he has played here before. Wonge played last season at Uhud in Saudi Arabian SBL league.
The previous (14-15) season he played at Al Wehda (Premier League) in Saudi Arabia.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Wonge's team made it to the NBL Canada Semifinals in 2013. He was also voted Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese JBL2 2nd Team back in 2009.
Wonge is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in four different countries. Wonge tasted the life as pro basketball player in Asia, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Sionista), Japan (Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya), EBA (N.Y. Wizards) and Ecuador (Haro and ComuniKT).
Wonge attended Winston Salem State University until 2008 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
On Wonge: Considered one of the best shooters in the 2010-11 EBA season. A natural 2-guard, Darrell is long enough and strong enough to match up against larger players if needed. At 6'7' with a high release point on his jump shot Darrell' s outside shot is almost impossible to block or change! His length might be his biggest advantage for the position he plays!.
