There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team, favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Al Ittihad (6-1) in Jeddah on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Al Fateh (6-0) 72-55. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Al Ittihad. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Undefeated Al Fateh have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Al Ittihad dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Al Nasr. Al Fateh are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Al Arabi (#12) in Al-Qassim in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Al Ittihad will play at home against Al Ansar (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Al Ahli Jeddah (5-2) against sixth ranked Uhud (5-2) on Friday night. Visiting Al Ahli Jeddah was defeated by Uhud in a tough game in Medina 83-88. The victory was the third consecutive win for Uhud. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Ahli Jeddah and Al Ansar. Uhud will play against Al Wehda (#8) in Mecca in the next round. Al Ahli Jeddah will play at home against Al Arabi (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Al Salam has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Al Wehda (2-4) on the road game in Mecca 73-68 on Friday. Al Salam (1-6) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Al Nahda and Al Noor. It was Al Wehda's third loss in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Al Salam will meet at home league's leader Al Fateh in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Al Wehda will play against Uhud (#4) in Medina and hope to secure a win.
Bottom-ranked Al Arabi (0-7) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to eighth ranked Al Hilal (3-4) 87-46. Al Hilal moved-up to seventh place. Al Arabi lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Al Hilal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riyadh to the arena Al Nasr.
Fifth ranked Al Ansar (5-2) crushed at home 10th ranked Al Noor (1-6) by 46 points 90-44, which is the biggest margin this round on Friday night. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Al Ansar. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Al Ahli Jeddah and Uhud. Al Noor lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Al Ansar will face league's second-placed Al Ittihad in Jeddah in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Al Noor will play at home against Al Nahda (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 7 Al Nasr destroyed Al Nahda on the opponent's court 94-51.

Al Wehda - Al Salam 68-73

They moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Ittihad. Al Nahda lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with six games lost. Al Nasr's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Riyadh Al Hilal.

Al Nasr and Al Hilal reach Semifinals - 3 days ago
Al Nasr and Al Hilal reached the Semifinals as they beat their opponents in the quarterfinal clashes 2-1. Al Hilal grabbed a narrow 75-74 win over Al Ittihad as they advanced to the next stage after losing the opener. Al-Nasr overcame Al-Ahli 86-80. In game 1 they posted an 88-81 win, but then lost to the opponent 73-81. The semifinal games are schedules for April 21st.   [read more]

Al-Nahdha beat Al Noor for a Saudi Basketball League Div 1 2017/18 title - 14 days ago
Al-Nahdha beat Al Noor 47-46 for a Saudi Basketball League Div 1 2017/18 title. They grabbed a 15-11 lead but saved only a narrow 26-25 advantage at the halftime. Al Noor replied with another 14-11 rally in the third quarter for a 2-point lead after three periods. Al-Nahdha meanwhile closed the game with the final 10-7 run to seal the victory.   [read more]
