Uhud Medina (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 23-year old American forward Torren Jones (206-107kg-94, college: William Penn) after he was tested there shortly. He signed with Glasgow Rocks in British BBL league by began of season but he couldn't get there due of work paper. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Jones' college team won HAAC Tournament in 2017. He was also voted All-HAAC Player of the Year and All-HAAC Newcomer of the Year in 2017. Jones graduated from William Penn University in 2017 and it is his first season as a professional player.

Al Nasr and Al Hilal reached the Semifinals as they beat their opponents in the quarterfinal clashes 2-1. Al Hilal grabbed a narrow 75-74 win over Al Ittihad as they advanced to the next stage after losing the opener.
Al-Nasr overcame Al-Ahli 86-80. In game 1 they posted an 88-81 win, but then lost to the opponent 73-81.

Defending champion Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (CIBACOPA) agreed terms with 28-year old American forward Taylor Brown (200-89, college: Bradley). It is actually his comeback to Halcones de Ciudad Obregon as he has played here before. Brown just played at played at Al Ahli Jeddah in Saudi Arabian SBL league. He also spent pre-season at Real Betis (Liga Endesa) in Spanish league that year. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Brown was voted Eurobasket.com Swedish Basketligan All-Imports Team back in 2014. He is quite experienced player. Brown's career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in seven different countries. Brown tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Belgium (Basic Fit Brussels), Germany (Fraport Skyliners II), Israel (Maccabi Rishon), Lithuania (Lietuvos rytas), Poland (Wilki Morskie), Turkey (Darussafaka) and Sweden (Nassjo). Brown attended Bradley University until 2012 and it is his sixth season as a professional player. On Brown:
Great shooter, very aggressive in the paint. Loves to play inside-outside and is able to score in very different ways. Athletic player, who goes after the rebounds. Al-Nahdha beat Al Noor 47-46 for a Saudi Basketball League Div 1 2017/18 title. They grabbed a 15-11 lead but saved only a narrow 26-25 advantage at the halftime. Al Noor replied with another 14-11 rally in the third quarter for a 2-point lead after three periods. Al-Nahdha meanwhile closed the game with the final 10-7 run to seal the victory. [read more]
