Saudi Arabia registered the second win at the Arabian Gulf Cup in Manama. They outplayed UAE for 1-2 record. Saudi Arabia thus clinched the third position at the tournament. They sealed the ticket to the Asian Cup to be held in Lebanon next year. UAE fell at 1-3 record after the defeat.
Saudi Arabia strongly tipped off the game. They accumulated a 27:13 lead after ten minutes. UAE responded with an 18:3 run in the second frame. They denied the deficit and ensured a one-point halftime lead 30:31. Saudi Arabia came back to life in the third quarter. They held UAE to 13 points to snatch a 4-point lead at the final break. Saudi Arabia outscored their opponents in the fourth period and celebrated a crucial win at the end. Fahad Al Salik came up with 19 points to lead the winners. Jaber Kabe (184-SG-85) added 15 points for Saudi Arabia. Rashed Al Zaabi (189-G-88) answered with 24 points for UAE. Abdulla Jasim (205-C-88) netted 13 points in the losing effort.

Al Nasr Riyadh (SBL) landed 24-year old Canadian forward Keanau Post (211-122kg-92, college: Missouri). He played most recently at Raptors 905 Missisauga (D-League) in the U.S. In 35 games he averaged just 2.9ppg and 2.5rpg last season. Defending champion Al Ittihad Jeddah (SBL) added to their roster 28-year old American forward Lester Ferguson (208-88, college: Robert Morris). He played last summer at Sunshine Coast Phoenix Clippers in Australia QBL. In 17 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.6ppg and 7.6rpg.
