Saudi Arabia registered the second win at the Arabian Gulf Cup in Manama. They outplayed UAE for 1-2 record. Saudi Arabia thus clinched the third position at the tournament. They sealed the ticket to the Asian Cup to be held in Lebanon next year. UAE fell at 1-3 record after the defeat.
Saudi Arabia strongly tipped off the game. They accumulated a 27:13 lead after ten minutes. UAE responded with an 18:3 run in the second frame. They denied the deficit and ensured a one-point halftime lead 30:31. Saudi Arabia came back to life in the third quarter. They held UAE to 13 points to snatch a 4-point lead at the final break. Saudi Arabia outscored their opponents in the fourth period and celebrated a crucial win at the end. Fahad Al Salik came up with 19 points to lead the winners. Jaber Kabe (184-SG-85) added 15 points for Saudi Arabia. Rashed Al Zaabi (189-G-88) answered with 24 points for UAE. Abdulla Jasim (205-C-88) netted 13 points in the losing effort.

Al Wasl Dubai (D1) tabbed 31-year old American forward Travis Gabbidon (201-86, college: UTSA). He started the season at Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabian SBL league. The last season Gabbidon played at Al Shaab. Among other achievements his team made it to the ABA Semifinals in 2014. Gabbidon received also Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Honorable Mention award back in 2013. He is a very experienced player.
