China U18 - Saudi Arabia U18 76:33

China had little problems at the quarterfinal stage of U18 Asia Championship. They coasted past Saudi Arabia to reach semis. Yang Jinmeng (190-G-95) came up with 11 points to lead China.
Saudi Arabia entered the game confidently. They led midway through the opening quarter. But the defending champions denied the deficit and pulled ahead for an 18:12 lead after ten minutes. The margin grew deeper in the second term. China ensured a 40:20 lead at halftime. They controlled the tempo after the big break. China kept their opponents at 18% from the field and eased to a 28-point lead heading into the fourth frame. They never looked back marching to the victory. Li Qi (198-F-95), Li Jinglong (195-F-95) and Bai Bing (200-F-95) finished with 9 points each for the winners. Nassir Abo Jalas (192-F-94) answered with 9 points for Saudi Arabia. Asslam Bafarat (197-F/C-94) and Safwan Mohammed (203-C-94) netted 6 points each in the loss.

Al Safa of Safwa (SBL) signed 28-year old American guard Ray Mitchell (201-95kg-89, college: CS Stanislaus). He played last summer at La Salle in Peruvian LNB league. Part of last season Mitchell spent at Al Hidaya (D1). He also played that season for Samaheej (Premier League) in Bahrain. Mitchell is quite experienced player. Defending champion Al Ittihad Jeddah (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old American guard Randy Reed II (198-91kg-93, college: Omaha, agency: Interperformances). He played most recently at JS Manazeh in Tunisian Division I. Among other achievements Reed II won NJCAA District XIII championship title in 2014. Uhud Medina (SBL) signed 29-year old American center Derrick Caracter (206-125kg-88, college: UTEP). He played last season at Echague in Argentinian LigaA.
