Mahamed Naser (191-F-97) leads Bahrain over Saudi Arabia in Day 5 of the 22nd Asia U18 Championship. He nailed 25 points as Bahrain grabbed important 75:72 win over the opponents. Bahrain improved to 1-3 record to keep the chances alive for the Quarterfinals, while Saudi Arabia fell at 0-4 record.
It was a real battle for the initial win in Group F. Both teams scored 15 points each in the first period, but then Bahrain erupted with 26-11 in the second frame for 15-point advantage at the halftime. Moreover they added 26-18 in the third period but could hardly win the game. Safwan Mohammed (203-C-94) reduced to 3 points at the end, while Waheed Faqihi (185-F-94) could not tie the game.
Mohammed Buallay (185-F-95) poured in 18 points and Ali Sayed Hasan (182-F-94) scored 13. Ali Hassan Shukralla collected 10 points and 11 rebounds in the winning effort. Nassir Abojalas (195-F-94) finished the game with massive 25 points and 20 rebounds, whilst Safwan Mohammed had 16 points and 11 boards. Waheed Faqihi notched 11 and Mohammed Alhosawe (173-G-94) poured in 10.

Al Ittihad Jeddah (SBL) signed American guard Jordan Williams (198-93kg, college: N.Texas). He played last summer at Frayles de Guasave in Mexican CIBACOPA. Al Fateh Al Hasa (SBL) agreed terms with 33-year old American guard Dontell Jefferson (196-83, college: Arkansas). He played last season at Qatar in Qatari D1 league. In 9 games he had very impressive stats: 23.7ppg, 7.7rpg, 5.9apg and 2.2spg. The previous (14-15) season Jefferson played at Al Ahli (also in D1).
