Diawara the MVP of the Syrian league
After the end of the syrian league before two days,The Syrian basketball federation decided to choose Ittihad import from Mali Lamine Diawara (206-C-71, agency: China-Hoop) to be the Most Valuable player of Syria 2006.
Lamine who helped Ittihad Aleppo so much to snatch the title from their city revals Al Jalaa' in the last moments after beating them 80-72,Lamine was the star of the game by making 3 block shots and 17 rebounds.
Diawara's statistics in the Syrian league were: 17.9ppg,14.3rpg,2.2bspg........
Al Jalaa's player Michel Madanli took best local player in teh syrian league,While Radwan Hassaballa from Army club took best defender and Omar Kerkoukli best points guard,And Lamine Diawara (206-C-71, agency: China-Hoop) best Rebounder.

  Ittihad the new champion for Syria for the season 2006
yesterday in the final game to clarify who is the champion of the syria for the year 2006, after a long time since the champion was from damascus. Now back to aleppo ittihad is the champion after winning Jalaa also from Aleppo, which would make them the syrian champions and Jalaa came in second place for the theird consecutive year. In the playoffs to the 47th season in the Syrian Basketball League, Al Jeish (Army) team has kept its title after a key win against Syrian leaders Al Ittihad Aleppo and Al Jeish is champion for a second time in a row.  The winner was 73-65 (half-time 44-36) against Al Ittihad. Al Jalaa' had no difficulty in beating Tishreen 104-73 and equalized with Al Jeish in points, but Al Jeish finished ahead because of the games between the two when taken into consideration.
