The Syrian Basketball Federation announced yesterday that they agreed with Serbian Vladimir Bosnjak to be the new head coach of the Syrian men's national team for one year.
Bosnjak previously coached the Libyan national team in 2003, and Iran's in 2004 and 2005. He has also coached professional clubs such as Al Manama (Bahrain), Al Qadsia (Kuwait) and Qatar Club in Qatar.
The first task for Bosnjak in his new role is the West Asia Tournament scheduled for June in Amman, Jordan.

Yousef Mejaneh a veteran who us to play for jalaa before he left to Germany, he would be the older brother of Rami Merjaneh he is playing in Germany with a Regionale team that won the finals heading to the bundesliga. He is 195cm and he plays the 2-3 position, he is a great benefit for jalaa this season especially after the injury of their super star micheal Maadanli. So today if the Syrian TV or the Dunia TV broadcasts the syrian final four you will see him play.

Yesterday Jalaa beat Karama from homs, in the cup game quarter final game while as we know that jalaa misses most of its valuable players like Micheal Maadanli, acl injury. Sharif Sharif with waiste injury, Hikmat Haddad with Acl but recovering and was able to play alittle.

The game started with Karama trying to take over the game but the new stars of the team were Rami Merjaneh, Aboud chacour, Sari Papazian first quarter was 29-23 for Jalaa second quarter 46-41 third quarter 73-54 fourth quarter 101-89 but the refs were very bad they gave jalaa 29 fouls in ONE quarter but still Jalaa won without problems. Now next week they will have to play another game in Homs to go to Semi Finals, and this will show the best team for the cup.

While with the winning of the Jalaa team the Wehda team is out of the final four, and they were not able to compete to reach that level while they had changed their team completely this season by buying players like ousayed Kalo, and some other to become stronger and more competitive. The decision comes after the injury of their star Micheal Maadanli and because Edwardo will not be able to play as a local. All the other teams are fully ready to play with their complete rosters which possibly leaves Ittihad alone from Syria in this tournament.
