American Mychal Ammons (198-F-92) had a great game in the last round for league's leader Al Gharafa and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 23 points and twelve rebounds, while his team outclassed Al Khor (#7, 3-9) with 32-point margin 95-63. It allowed Al Gharafa to consolidate first place in the Qatari D1. Al Gharafa has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 11-1. Ammons turned to be Al Gharafa's top player in his first season with the team. Mychal Ammons averages this season 17.9ppg and 9.4rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American guard Justin Monroe (196-G-87) of Al Shamal. Monroe impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Shamal lost that game 80-95 to the higher-ranked Al Arabi (#2, 11-2). Al Shamal are still at the very bottom. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Al Shamal managed to get this year. Monroe is one of the most experienced players at Al Shamal and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.3ppg (#8). His other stats are also decent: 9.3rpg and 4.3apg. Morehouse College alumni Monroe played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

The third best performed player last round was American Nick Stover (198-F-93) of second-ranked Al Arabi. Stover showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the last round. He was a key player of Al Arabi, leading his team to a 95-80 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Shamal (#9, 1-12). Al Arabi is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 11-2 record is not that bad... Stover has a great season in Qatar. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.8ppg (best scorer).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Julius Coles (193-SG-89) of Al Sadd - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists
5. Sherwood Brown (193-G-91) of Al Rayyan - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists
6. Dee Oldham (193-G-94) of Al Sadd - 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Adamu Saaka (198-SF-88) of Al Wakrah - 30 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
8. Nemanja Besovic (221-C-92) of Al Ahli - 16 points and 10 rebounds
