Al Shamal Doha (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old French center Alioune Tew (206-98kg-92, college: Niagara). He already started the season at BC Boncourt Red Team in Swiss SBL league. But in two games he recorded just 1.0ppg and 2.0rpg this season.
Tew helped his team to make it to the French U21 Championships (Trophee du Futur) Semifinals in 2013.
He has played also in France (Paris Levallois).
Tew attended Niagara University until 2018 and it is his first season in pro basketball.

Al Gharafa Doha (D1) landed 27-year old American swingman Justin Watts (196-90, college: N.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe). He played recently at Czarni in Polish PLK league, but left the team last month. In 13 games he averaged impressive 15.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 2.7apg this season. FINAL Al Wakrah - Al Arabi 59-61 Al Arabi nipped Al Wakrah to celebrate D1 title. Al Arabi brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Senegalese center Oumar Seck (208-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and American swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) chipped in 24 points and 4 blocks.
