Devan Downey
Guaiqueries de Margarita (LPB) tabbed 30-year old American guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe). He played most recently at Al Gharafa in Qatari D1 league. He helped them to win the cup and make to league semifinals. He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Honorable Mention.
Among other achievements Downey won Turkish TB2L championship title in 2012. He received also NABC Division I All-District 21 1st Team award back in 2010 at his college time.
Downey is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in eight different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. Downey has played previously professionally in Belgium (VOO Verviers Pepinster), Croatia (KK_Zadar), France (Chorale de Roanne), Kosovo (Sigal Prishtina), Romania (BC Timisoara), Turkey (TED Kolejliler and Antalya Buyuksehir Belediye) and D-League (Fort Wayne Mad Ants).
He attended University of South Carolina until 2010 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Downey's outlook: This former Three-Time All-Southeast Conference 1st Team Performer is extremely quick and can score the ball with the best of them. Has PG skills, but a scorers mentality, and can create against any defender.
