30-year old point guard Marcel Anderson (183-PG-86) had an amazing evening in the last round for Al Rayyan and receives a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 11.
He had the game-high 37 points adding six rebounds and eight assists for Al Rayyan in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Al Sadd (#8, 3-6) with 51-point margin 110-59. Al Rayyan maintains the 4th position in Qatari league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Rayyan will need more victories to improve their 6-3 record. In the team's last game Anderson had a remarkable 72.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Rayyan's top player in his first season with the team. Harris-Stowe State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Anderson is in league's top in points (6th best: 25.2ppg), assists (6th best: 5.4apg) and averages solid 2.6spg and 51.5% FGP. Worth to mention Anderson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Mohamed Haras of Al Shamal. He is a in his first season at Al Shamal. In the last game Haras recorded impressive double-double of 31 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as Al Shamal lost that game 68-89 to the higher-ranked Al Arabi (#3, 6-3). Al Shamal managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-6 record. Haras is a newcomer at Al Shamal and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 31.3ppg (#2). He also registered 17.9 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Sammy Monroe (198-F-85) of league's second-best Al Gharafa. Monroe got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . He was a key player of Al Gharafa, leading his team to a 127-86 easy win against the lower-ranked Qatar Club (#6, 4-5). Al Gharafa is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 8-1 record is not that bad... Monroe has a great season in Qatar. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (9th best) and assists with 4.6apg (8th best). He also has 2.3spg and FGP: 54.5%. Monroe attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
