Adamu Saaka
American-Ghanian Adamu Saaka (198-SF-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for Al Arabi and that's him to receive a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 28-year old had the game-high 35 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Al Arabi in his team's victory, helping them to crush, the league's bottom-ranked team Al Khor (#10, 0-8) with 24-point margin 78-54. Al Arabi is placed at 3rd position in Qatari D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Arabi will need more victories to improve their 5-3 record. In the team's last game Saaka had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Arabi's top player in his first season with the team. Furman University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Saaka is in league's top in points (8th best: 23.6ppg) and averages solid 56.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old Mohamed Haras of Al Shamal. Haras impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 30 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Al Shamal to edge slightly higher-ranked Al Ahli (#5, 4-4) by 5 points 74-69. This victory allowed Al Shamal to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Haras is a newcomer at Al Shamal and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 31.3ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 18.2rpg and 3.2apg.

The third best performed player last round was American James Justice (178-PG-89) of Qatar Club (#6). Justice got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for nine rebounds and eleven assists. He was a key player of Qatar Club, leading his team to a 99-88 win against the lower-ranked Al Wakrah (#9, 1-7). Qatar Club needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Justice has a great season in Qatar. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 31.9ppg (best scorer) and assists with 8.6apg (best passer). He also has 2.4spg and FGP: 58.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Quinton Doggett (206-F-90) of Qatar Club - 28 points, 17 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Tyrone Johnson (190-G-92) of Al Shamal - 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Larry Blair (183-G-84) of Al Wakrah - 30 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
