Manny Adako
Nigerian-American Power forward Manny Adako (203-F/C-87, agency: Court Side) had a great game in the last round for Al Arabi, receiving a Asia-basket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Qatar Club (#6, 3-4) with 20-point margin 98-78. Al Arabi is placed at 4th position in Qatari D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Al Arabi will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Adako had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Al Arabi's top player in his first season with the team. Former Northeastern University star has very solid stats this year. Adako is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 12.7rpg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg,56.8% FGP and 43.5% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was 26-year old American Quinton Doggett (206-F-90) of Qatar Club. Doggett had a very good evening with a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Qatar Club lost that game 78-98 to slightly higher-ranked Al Arabi (#4, 4-3). Qatar Club managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-4 record. Doggett is a newcomer at Qatar Club, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.9ppg (#5). He also registered 13.7 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Rickey Young (205-PF-90) of Al Khor (#10). Young scored 29 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Young's great performance Al Khor lost 69-73 to the higher-ranked Al Ahli (#5, 4-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Al Khor can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 7 games. Too bad for Young he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Young has individually a great season in Qatar. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.4ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 10.1rpg (8th best). He also has 2.3bpg and FGP: 51.8%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Vernon Macklin (208-F/C-86) of El Jaysh - 31 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists
5. Dairese Gary (185-PG-88) of Al Khor - 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Adamu Saaka (198-SF-88) of Al Arabi - 29 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists
7. James Justice (178-PG-89) of Qatar Club - 34 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists
8. Mame Souleye (206-C-87) of Al Arabi - 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists
9. AJ West (206-F-91) of Al Sadd - 10 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Ndoye Seydou Elhadj) of Al Ahli - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
