Boney Watson
Experienced American Boney Watson (183-PG-78) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Al Rayyan and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 34-year old playmaker recorded a triple-double of 21 points addeding also eleven rebounds and fourteen assists, while his team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Al Ahli (#8, 0-5) with 49-point margin 103-54. It allowed Al Rayyan to jump to the first place in the Qatari D1. They maintain perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Al Rayyan already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Watson had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Al Rayyan's top player in his first season with the team. Boney Watson averages just after two games 24.5ppg, 7.5rpg and 11.0apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was -year old Senegalese Oumar Seck of Qatar. Seck impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as Qatar lost that game 75-84 to slightly higher-ranked Al Gharafa (#5, 3-2). Qatar is still second from the bottom in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Qatar managed to get this year. Seck is well-known by Qatar fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Al Rayyan's star - former international forward Yasseen Ismail Musa (204-F/C-80). Ismail Musa showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was another key player of Al Rayyan, helping his team with a 103-54 easy win against Al Ahli (#8, 0-5). Al Rayyan started extremely well this year. They recorded 5 victories without losing a single game. Ismail Musa turns to be one of the very best players in the league while he is also a leader of the top team having his eyes on the championship title. Ismail Musa has a very solid season. In 2 games in Qatar he scored 22.0ppg.

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
